The goal was to create a Microsoft Sharepoint based inter-department dynamic and unified global inventory and dispatch system.
The system allowed for proper local inventory to be maintained at operational standards. It also allowed for dynamic ordering and dispatching of hardware for new locations, new hires, and project teams while keeping a sufficient level of back stock for redundancy and disaster recovery purposes.
This system also resolved inter-department miscommunications and unified inventory knowledge and requests between the network, desk side, and project teams at Biogen Idec.
